The chicken breasts can be sliced into any size you prefer. You can keep them whole, cut them into bite-sized pieces, or even turn them into strips. If you’re all about that maximum crunch (and who isn’t?), I’d recommend cutting the chicken into small pieces for the best texture.

Famous Butter Ritz Chicken Recipe (Nugget Style)
Ingredients
- 3 to 4 boneless chicken breasts sliced into small cubes
- 2 beaten eggs
- 2 cups of Ritz Cracker crumbs
- ½ stick of butter sliced into small bits
- Seasoning to your liking
Instructions
- Line or oil a 9x13 baking pan, and turn on your oven to 375 F. *The recipe notes below are important.
- Beat your eggs in a bowl separate from the one with the cracker crumbs. Add seasoning to the crumbs like black pepper, Italian seasoning, and garlic powder.
- Submerge the chicken in eggs, then cover it in the seasoned crumbs.
- Lay out the covered chicken in your prepared pan, then top with the sliced butter.
- Place in the middle rack of your oven and cook for 20 minutes until fully cooked.
Notes
- The key to making the cracker crumbs, put them in a Ziplock bag and crush them using a rolling pin. You will get 2 cups of crumbs out of 2 sleeves of Ritz crackers.
- Don’t throw the chicken into the seasoned crumb bowl, this will make them soggy and prevent them from properly sticking into the chicken. Instead, sprinkle the crumbs over the chicken using your hands.
- This recipe can be made with whole chicken breasts, which is the classic way to enjoy it, the only thing is that they require a longer baking time. I personally like using chicken pieces instead, because they soak up all the richness of the butter better.
